Bali, 10 Januari 2025 — Program Studi Usaha Perjalanan Wisata (UPW) Politeknik Nasional kembali menghadirkan inovasi dalam metode pembelajaran dengan melaksanakan perkuliahan di luar kampus. Dalam kegiatan bertajuk Journey Beyond: Explore, Learn, Sustain, mahasiswa diajak untuk merasakan pengalaman belajar yang berbeda di salah satu destinasi wisata terkenal, Bali Country Side.
Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari praktik mata kuliah yang dirancang untuk memberikan mahasiswa pemahaman mendalam tentang industri pariwisata yang berkelanjutan. Selama berada di Bali Country Side, mahasiswa tidak hanya mengeksplorasi keindahan alam pedesaan yang memukau, tetapi juga belajar langsung mengenai budaya, kearifan lokal, dan praktik keberlanjutan yang telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan masyarakat Bali.
Dengan semangat “Explore, Learn, Sustain”, mahasiswa Prodi UPW diajak untuk memahami pentingnya harmoni antara pariwisata dan pelestarian lingkungan. Mereka diajak untuk menggali potensi wisata berbasis komunitas serta belajar cara menciptakan pengalaman wisata yang menarik tanpa merusak nilai-nilai lokal. Para mahasiswa juga berinteraksi langsung dengan masyarakat setempat untuk memahami bagaimana nilai tradisi dan keberlanjutan diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Wakil Direktur I Bidang Akademik Politeknik Nasional Ibu Dr. Ni Wayan Purnami Rusadi, S.P., M.Agb menyampaikan kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu kegiatan dari Prodi yang bertujuan untuk memperkaya wawasan mahasiswa dalam merancang produk wisata yang inovatif sekaligus bertanggung jawab dimana mahasiswa terjun langsung kedalamnya. “Kami ingin membekali mahasiswa dengan kemampuan untuk menciptakan wisata yang tidak hanya menarik secara komersial, tetapi juga memberikan dampak positif bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat lokal.”
Kegiatan ini mendapatkan apresiasi dari para mahasiswa yang merasakan manfaat besar dari pembelajaran di luar kampus. Pengalaman ini benar-benar membuka mata wawasan mahasiswa tentang pentingnya keberlanjutan dalam dunia pariwisata. Tidak hanya belajar teori, tetapi juga langsung melihat dan merasakan penerapannya.
Dengan terlaksananya Journey Beyond: Explore, Learn, Sustain, Prodi UPW Politeknik Nasional terus menunjukkan komitmennya untuk mencetak generasi profesional di bidang pariwisata yang memiliki wawasan global dan kepedulian terhadap keberlanjutan. Bali Country Side menjadi saksi perjalanan mahasiswa dalam mengeksplorasi, belajar, dan membawa semangat keberlanjutan ke masa depan industri pariwisata Indonesia.
